Overview
Experience the rich history of Kathmandu, the diverse wildlife of Chitwan, and the scenic sights of Pokhara on this delightful eight days Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara Tour.
The Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara Tour begins in the capital, where we will spend the first day exploring the archaic spots in the medieval cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur. Our plan for the day includes visiting the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath in the morning, the Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath, and the hilltop complex of Swayambhunath overlooking Kathmandu valley, which comprises both Hindu shrines and Buddhist pagodas. We will also tour the old palaces around the valley (Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan Durbar Squares), given we have enough spare time. Once we're content with the culture and history behind the various religious and cultural sites in Kathmandu, we move on to the jungles of Chitwan.
An exciting safari tour is awaiting us in Chitwan. During the course of this, we will venture deep into the Jungle, allowing you to witness a diversity of animals and vegetation. The major wildlife of the Chitwan National Park includes One-horned Rhinoceros, Gharials, Bengali Tigers, Clouded Leopards, Bengal Florican, Oriental Darter, Spotted Eagles, Peafowls, Rock Pythons, King Cobras, Sloth bears, and Antelopes among other rare birds and animals. We will have a brief visit to the elephant breeding centre to take part in elephant bathing shortly. Apart from the wildlife, we will also spend a day touring around the nearby Tharu villages and experience their culture. We might also have a short canoeing experience in the Rapti River as long as we're not short on time.
Finally, the Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara tour brings us to the enchanting lakeside city of Pokhara. Pokhara, being the main tourism hub of Nepal, sports numerous attractions as well as activities. We will drive and hike to Sarangkot first thing in the morning to witness the heavenly sunrise view that the site is famous for. Afterwards, we make our way through the venerated landmarks like Mahendra Cave, Phewa Lake, Davis Fall, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Seti Gorge and eventually arrive at World Peace Pagoda, which is a fantastic vantage point to view the lakeside city in the evening sun. We spend the evening exploring the bustling markets and enjoying the nightlife. The following day, a scenic flight with glorious views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre will take us back to the capital.
